In the Pre-Primary section, it has been ensured that the learning process is both joyful and experiential. The students are given ample opportunities to play and learn. The rooms of study have been converted into Learning Centres and are not regular classrooms. While teaching is done using ICT methodology, the BALA project i.e., Building as a Learning Tool is evident all around. Colourful and relevant wall displays, a class library and a reading corner, free play corner, art corner and a ‘my time with me’ corner are the signature elements of each learning centre. Every part of the room offers a learning experience. The children are given two open pigeon-shelf shelves each and are encouraged to be responsible for their belongings by taking out and putting back the items required for their study from and back into their own sections.
The learning itself is thematic so as to encourage trans-disciplinary learning. This not only helps cement learning but also allows for widening the
horizon of the child.
The weekly timetable includes activities in the Montessori Lab, Activity room, indoor gym, story room, splash pool, skating, vocal and instrumental music, dance and other indoor as well as outdoor sports and games.
