The world as we know it today
“Cross-cultural learning and studying abroad can be transformative”
Technology has ensured that boundaries exist on paper. It is an undisputed fact that the future of India lies in the hands of the students in schools today. It is also a fact that the citizens of India are also global citizens and as such must be given exposure to and be empowered to contribute to the global community too.
STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES
The K R Mangalam World School, Vaishali caters for the global sensitisation of its students through several programmes. The school has a regular Student Exchange Programme with the Ozanam School, Lille in France. Under this programme, students and their families play the role of hosts as well as guests as they partner with each other to spend a fortnight together in India as well as France. During this period, not only are they exposed to the education system but also to the culture, heritage, community and familial systems of both countries. This has proven to be a tremendous learning experience that has widened the global horizons of the students of both countries.
VIRTUAL CONFERENCES
Advancement in various social media and networking platforms has made cross-border interactions possible through virtual conferences. The students of the school have had several virtual conferences with students from countries such as France, Nepal, Qatar, USA, Australia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, etc. – their conversations have ranged from school-related experiences to handicrafts of their respective countries, thus giving the children a peep into the world of a child living in a country other than their own.
